Here at MK Battery, we believe that everyone has a responsibility to practice sustainability in business. We know that batteries being tossed into landfills is a hazard for people and wildlife alike. We also know that it is a wasteful practice that only leads us to pull more raw materials out of the Earth. That is why we are focused on building sustainable systems for providing quality batteries.

Materials Reclamation

The largest part of our sustainability efforts has to do with reclaiming materials used in old batteries. In fact, our system not only harvests lead and acid from old batteries, but we even grind up old battery cases and turn them into new battery cases. By reclaiming almost all of our materials from older batteries, we are are able to reduce our dependence on new raw materials and keep our costs down.

Environmental Protections

Beyond our manufacturing, our concern for the environment is alive and well. We have installed a full suite of air quality monitors and other testing equipment to ensure that the air, water and ground around our facility are free of contaminants and safe for the public. We have even gone one step further, reclaiming the fumes that are produced during lead smelting, and using them to produce a high quality fertilizer that actually improves soil quality for farmland. Our onsite water treatment facility ensures that all of our waste water is reclaimed and purified before going back into use in our batteries.
