The History of Renewable Energy Batteries

We live in an age of unprecedented technological growth. An age in which brilliant new discoveries are being made every day and those discoveries are revolutionizing the way we live, work, and play. Here at MK Battery, we are proud to be taking part in this latest technological revolution, and doing so in a way that is greatly enhancing lives and industries everywhere. How we do that is by designing, manufacturing, and distributing renewable energy batteries that are highly capable at keeping today's renewable energy solutions going. Every day, more devices are becoming powered with renewable energy methods and we are proud that our renewable energy batteries are helping our clients take their new, renewable energy-powered devices out and about into the world at large.

Of course, to really understand how important renewable energy batteries are, one must first understand how we got to our current energy position by understanding the history of renewable energy as well as renewable energy batteries.

The History of Renewable Energy & Renewable Energy Batteries

Renewable energy is defined as energy that comes from sources or processes that are constantly or consistently being replenished. Although some renewable energy sources are more "renewable" than others. For example, wood is considered a renewable resource due to it being possible to replant a tree from the seeds of one that's fallen. Wood was, in fact, almost certainly the very first resource the cavemen ever used as they warmed their caves and cooked their foods.

However, while you can plant trees from their seeds and replenish a forest, it takes time to do and if you take more than can be replaced in a given time, you risk destroying your source for the renewable resource. History is littered with cautionary tales of this. For example, Britain was in an energy crisis in the early 1600s when it almost ran out of trees due to their growing population's increasing use of wood as an energy source. Historians argue it was this crisis that primarily fueled a move to coal and that boom in coal use then helped to spur the first Industrial Revolution.

Today, we are in our own energy crisis and new developments in renewable energy sources and renewable energy batteries, we hope, will lead to an all-new kind of energy revolution. In truth, it sort of already has. In the last several decades, the price of photovoltaic modules, which are the key component of solar panels, have seen a dramatic drop in price, now costing 99% less today than what it did 40 years ago. Solar panels are what are used to capture the power of arguably the greatest source of renewable energy: the sun. Renewable energy batteries help transition that raw power into energy that can be utilized to power devices, appliances, and vehicles.

Consumers can now buy solar panel chargers for their phones, their wheelchairs, their homes, and so much more. Here at MK Battery, we are proud to offer a wide range of renewable energy batteries that can be connected both with residential and commercial solar panel systems to provide effective and efficient renewable energy.

Today, wood and similar biofuels are the number one type of renewable energy source we consume, solar accounts for the fourth most consumed, and in between them, ranking as second and third respectively, are wind and hydroelectric energy. Interestingly, these are two types of energy sources that humans have been using for centuries. Consider how the wind was harnessed to propel sailboats and both windmills and watermills ground grain and chopped hay. Today, both the wind and flowing water are harnessed to power entire electric grids.
